Donor Embryos at CFC
Donor embryos are embryos created through in vitro fertilization (IVF) using eggs and sperm from anonymous donors or surplus embryos from persons who have already completed an IVF cycle.
What does the process entail?
-
Recipients are matched with donor embryos based on physical characteristics, medical history and investigations.
-
Recipients undergo counseling to understand the process and implications of using donor embryos.
-
The recipient is investigated and prepared for embryo transfer.
-
The donor embryo(s) are prepared and then transferred into the recipient’s uterus.
At CFC donor embryos have offered hope to many individuals and couples allowing them to build their family and experience the joy of parenthood.
